The Back Shop holds a patented method enabling worldwide delivery of reclining chairs, the New York Office Chair, and Car Seat Moulds that deliver perfect "S" posture, minimising disc pressure for a 95% success rate in pain-free sitting up to 10-12 hours at desks, endless driving, or all-day reclining.
Unique understanding
Over 45 years, we've crafted 50,000+ made-to-measure chairs after measuring 120,000+ spines, gaining unique insight into diverse spinal shapes, like fingerprints. This expertise powers remote customisation using metrics that we have developed over our extensive experience over 45 years without in-person visits, using just your height, weight, inside leg length, and preferred sitting height.
Precision Customization
Each chair starts with our data-driven base design for optimal support, then features a built-in airbag in the backrest—tweaked via an easy pneumatic hand pump for exact spinal conformity. Available in vast materials, fabrics, and colors; fully assembled for global clients from Alice Springs to New York, Hong Kong, and Liverpool FC's training ground.
